Ok ok, I may be a year too late for it, but man, this movie is nerve-wrecking. Chris Nolan is amazing director, just amazing. What else can you expect from the guy who gave us 'Batman begins' and 'Memento' (That's the movie from where we got the Ghajini idea)
The performances are awesome, everyone pitching in there best, it becomes quite heady for the viewer, as all the actors take them for this thrilling ride, Oldman, Bale and offcourse Heath Ledger carry around the mantle very well.
Now about Heath Ledger, I have seen few of his other movies, he has such a charming smile. He has such smooth screen presence, jolly temperament; you can not stop loving him. I just adored him. And there is no testimony to his great performance other than this, that I hated the 'Joker'. He was so sickening, terribly horribly sickening. I am at loss of words for it. Heath makes Joker believable evil, realistically heartless, and makes you pray such people do not exist in reality. We are surely going to miss this talented actor, who had promise of much more than we got.
The special effects and action are amazing, especially the scene where batman crashes the Joker truck, it is a Class A sequence in all departments. But you do go to theatres/rent a DVD for superhero flick with this minimum expectation!!
The only thing spoiling the fun is length of the movie. The first major twist of the movie does not come till its past one hour mark, and your celebrations are cut short by sudden appearance of two-face(he looks yaks). And you do get a tiny-winy bit bored at this point.
Before I end this, let me not forget the human side. The ferry scene puts that thing in your mind, 'people are good', no fireworks for you joker!!
Don’t waste anymore time if you have not watched the movie yet. Rent it today!!
